Hey there! My name is Louis "Lou" Mason and this is my photography website. I'm a photographer from Delaware who currently resides in Montana. I'm passionate about telling important stories and bridging gaps through my work. I primarily shoot research and nature based subjects either out in the field or in a lab.
I have experience shooting for:
-The University of Delaware's student-run newspaper, The Review
-USA Today affiliate, The News Journal
-Delaware State Parks
-The Food Bank
-Delaware Sea Grant
-Montana Technological University
-The Montana Standard
-Nature Conservancy
Born and raised in Delaware, I started my photography journey when I got my first DSLR, a Canon T5 Rebel. I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in English/Journalism. While there, I joined the student-run newspaper, The Review, and began to really harness my style of photography while contributing to the paper with news coverages and photo stories.
From there I was fortunate enough to get to an internship with the Delaware News Journal and a research fellowship through the University of Delaware that same summer. Following my graduation in 2020, I freelanced with organizations such as Delaware State Parks, Delaware Sea Grant and The News Journal while also working my non-photography related warehouse jobs.
Montana Tech hired me in the fall of 2021 and I decided to move across the country with everything I could fit into my SUV to further pursue my passion. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities and places my camera has allowed me to experience so far and I am eager to see where it'll take me next!
